The Queens Jubilee Trophy is a team competition held annually between the Golf Club Captains of Bedfordshire, Essex, Kent, Hampshire, London, Oxfordshire and Sussex.
The competition to be held during week 32 of the calendar (2nd week in August) if possible.
The winners are presented with the Queen’s Jubilee Trophy, then retain the Trophy for the year and be responsible for its care. The winners also organise and pay for the engraving of the trophy for that year, and return it for the following year’s competition.
One County will organise the event each year by rotation and the hosts going forward will be 2021 Kent, 2022 Essex, 2023 Oxfordshire, 2024 London, 2025 Bedfordshire, 2026 Sussex and 2027 Hampshire
ORGANISING COUNTY DUTIES
1. To arrange the venue and provide the Competition Committee for the day.
2. Advise as early as possible the date of the event to the other Counties, no later than at the prior years event.
3. Provide starter(s) at the first tee(s).
4. Supply and display a scoreboard.
5. Obtain the prizes and ensure that the Trophy is returned for presentation on the day. Suggested prizes are a decent bottle of brandy, malt whiskey or champagne for each winner. The individual prize to be different from the team prize.
6. Advise the other Counties of arrangements and receive the teams from each of them. Include and allow for non-playing members to attend the day.
7. Organise the order of play for the day, in three balls, with no players from the same County in the same group. Advise the Counties of the draw. The format will have a two ball who should go off first, although the Organising County may provide a marker to play in this group.
8. Calculate the cost of the day on a per head basis, allowing for all outgoings, advise the other Counties and collect the required fees. The cost for non-playing attendees should cover just the catering costs for the day.
9. Establish registration for competitors on arrival on the day of the competition.
10. Provide details of any local rules that are in play for the day and any other specific arrangements for the competitors.
11. Advise where competitors are to return their cards after play. Receive all scorecards, check they are correct, process as a qualifying competition and post the results.
12. Arrange catering including pre-competition lunch and post-competition dinner and prize presentation.
13. Circulate copies of the detailed results to other Counties organisers after the event.
